Goodness! Goodness!! Goodness!!!
The download numbers of the Opera 8 "had reached 1,050,000 by Apr 23 2005 " !? They really did it !!
So what the CEO, Jon, has to do the next is to swim across the ocean ...!? Bless him ...make sure bring a life jacket. (And the Opera company might have got to find another CEO...??)
Interestingly enough, Opera has set up a particular page for Jon's Viking journey - on their
"swim" page. (what a funny url). I'll check it up frequently.
Hey Sam, great to read your blog. Very amusing about the Opera browser. Maybe I'll download it and give it a go. How does it compare to firefox? I'm rather a fan of firefox, particularly all the extensions.
ReplyDeleteI normally use both, although I personally prefer Opera since I find Opera is faster and lighter than firefox.
ReplyDeleteOpera:
1. light and fast (even though I'm using dial-up)
2. I can switch turning on/off images with just one click (one of my favorite functions, coz I normally turn off the images to make the webpages show up faster, unless the images are important)
Firefox:
1. plenty of extensions (somehow the flashget extension never works on my laptop though. From 0.9x ~ the current 1.0.3)
2. sometimes Opera can't show webpage correctly (not always) whereas Firefox can show it correctly.
Thanks for the update on browsers. I've found a few pages that don't display correctly on firefox but these are rare. You can also control images just as easily in firefox with the development extension - very useful for web development. I'll give opera a go when I get a chance
